About Penfield Residents Directory

Penfield records are held by several custodians, not one directory publisher. The Town Assessor, Monroe County Clerk, elections office, courts, State agencies, and local-history collections each preserve a different kind of fact. This private reference helps people begin with the record that fits a name, street, parcel, or older address and keep the source date and limitation in view.

Why This Site Exists

Penfield's useful records are divided by purpose. Monroe County keeps recorded land instruments and county property tools. The Town Assessor manages the local assessment process. The Board of Elections operates its own purpose-limited lookup, and the Penfield Local History Room preserves family, cemetery, directory, map, and clipping material. New York agencies and courts control their own statutory records. We bring these routes together so a researcher can identify the proper office before making a request.

What the Reference Provides

  • Pages by angle: the street directory, the Directory Book, and the resident lookup
  • Custodian routes: the Assessor, Clerk, Board of Elections, court clerk, vital-record office, and Local History Room
  • Record trails: parcel to deed, a dated directory entry, and the way an older address can be checked across sources
  • Access limits: New York Freedom of Information Law, Public Officers Law §§84–90, and the separate rules that control records not available through FOIL

What We Cannot Do

This is a privately operated reference with no connection to a Penfield office, Monroe County department, New York agency, court, or library. Important limits include:

  • We cannot confirm that a specific person currently lives in Penfield
  • We cannot pull, certify, or change any record on your behalf
  • We cannot add anyone to, or remove anyone from, any roll or database
  • We cannot give legal advice about a record or a dispute
  • We cannot promise that every coverage year, link, or office detail here is current at this moment

Only the custodian can confirm, certify, or correct its record. Use the office that maintains the source when a record needs review.
